Sunjya K. Schweig MD Dr. Schweig offers the full spectrum of family medical care and is well qualified to treat patients of all ages with a wide variety of health challenges. Areas of expertise include integrating complementary and alternative medical care with caring conventional medicine, alternative approaches to allergy, functional medicine, holistic pediatrics, metabolic syndrome, nutrition and healthy weight loss, and osteoporosis. In addition, Dr. Schweig is skilled at working with people with stress, anxiety, insomnia, and depression using the HeartMath® biofeedback system with neurotransmitter and hormone balancing. Dr. Schweig was a leader in alternative medicine education and research at The University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He was chosen to attend a National Institute of Health leadership training program in complementary and alternative medicine. Dr. Schweig graduated medical school with honors and then completed his family medicine residency at the UCSF Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency Program, where he is now on faculty and leads an integrative medical consultation clinic. Sunjya K. Schweig, MD, is a Bay Area native. He was born and raised in Point Reyes. He attended UC Berkeley for his undergraduate work in medical anthropology and then spent a year in Ecuador working with both western physicians and indigenous healers.
